June 2025

Dear Friends,

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Galilee Beach Club on Friday evening for Beach Bash!

It was a bit chilly on the beach but the energy was high, and ARRI’s staff and board members had a great time seeing old friends and making new ones.  It’s always fun to be surrounded by fellow animal lovers! We loved hearing stories and updates about the cats and dogs that were adopted from our shelter.

Beach Bash was a perfect occasion to come together to celebrate ARRI’s pets and the work you all make possible. Thank you all so much for your generous support!

With gratitude,

Liz Skrobisch
Executive Director

Thank you to everyone who participated in Beach Bash. Together, we raised $26,000 for the care of the animals at ARRI.

Become a Humane Hero and be a part of the magic of changing lives!

In honor of the 10th anniversary of our state-of-the-art shelter, we invite you to become a HUMANE HERO by contributing just $10 each month as a monthly donor.

As a HERO, you'll cover the yearly cost of a cage or kennel for a cat or dog.

Since opening our current building in 2015, more than 5,000 animals have walked out our doors and into loving homes with their new families. That's been possible only because you care.

Come on a tour with us at our shelter and see firsthand what being a Humane Hero is all about.

We're thrilled to share that Animal Rescue Rhode Island (ARRI) has been named Best Animal Shelter in South County for 2025 by Rhode Island Monthly—our 12th consecutive win!

This incredible honor reflects our team’s passion, your ongoing support, and our shared commitment to giving every animal a chance at a new life.

Welcome New Volunteers!

A warm welcome to our new on-site volunteers joining ARRI this June: Jordan, Liz, Mary, Maya, Michael, and Rose. We are so thrilled to have you!

Thank you for dedicating your time to ARRI and the welfare of our animals!

Olive's Story!

Gaining Confidence

Thank you so much for introducing us to Jan, who now goes by Olive! She is the best pup and has been adjusting very well in her new home. Olive won all the hearts at her first vet visit as well!

Olive has been gaining more and more confidence each day and now happily takes us exploring. From being shy about walking up the stairs on her first day she has gone to bounding up them when we get back home from our walks. She loves her couch and bed, and loves to give us hugs and kisses.

We are so happy to have Olive in our lives and hope to give her the best life possible!

Best,
Dhwani & Paul

Pet of the Month

Hi, I’m Robin!

I’m 1 year old, 40 pounds, and full of love.

I may be a retired mama, but I’m just getting started with my best life. I’m a water-loving, tail-wagging, sunshine-soaking girl who can’t resist a splash during my walks. When the breeze hits just right, I close my eyes and smile—life is so good.

I love other dogs, I’m cool with cats, and I get super excited to meet new people (my tail goes wild!). I’m the perfect mix of adventure buddy and snuggle bug, and I can’t wait to find a family to call my own.

Think we’re a match?
Come meet me at www.animalrescueri.org!

ADOPT ROBIN!

Happy Endings

Bella

Bella has taken a new name of “Sweetums”. She is a love bug and loves to be petted at every chance she gets. She fell asleep on my lap the other day to my delight and my sons’ jealousy.  Her morning trills fills us with happiness. When we play, she is so gentle with her nibbling and claws.

Her personality comes out more and more everyday and we are so happy that she is settling in and is more comfortable with us.  We are still waiting for her to be fine with being picked up, but we have time. Thank you so much for everything your organization does to allow pets to be rehomed and loved.

Tim
