Dear Friends,
Summer is in full swing at ARRI, and the joy is contagious. Our shelter has been bustling with happy tails and hopeful hearts, and we have you to thank.
In June and July, more than 110 animals found their forever homes. That’s 110 lives transformed and 110 families made whole. One of those lucky pets was Bubba, a shy pup who arrived unsure of the world. With time, patience, and lots of love, Bubba blossomed and now he’s living his best life. His favorite moments are curled up on the couch with his new family, finally feeling secure. These are the moments we cherish, and we’d love you to be part of the next one.

Each month, ARRI will celebrate a dedicated volunteer who goes above and beyond for our animals. This month’s honoree, Richard, shared a bit about his experience: Why do you volunteer at ARRI?
My wife and I have had rescue dogs in our lives since we were young kids, and they have been extraordinary parts of our lives – great companions in good times and bad, whether we needed a lift or wanted to play. Our most recent addition is a rescue from ARRI who we’ve named Sam. He’s a big, beautiful couch potato who loves to rest his head in the nearest human lap. I volunteer at ARRI in order to pay it forward and help give others the opportunity to have a great four-legged friend. What is your favorite part about volunteering at ARRI? I’m a regular on the dog walking team. I know dogs can develop behavior problems if they don’t get enough stimulation, and it’s really important to get them out of their runs to see the world, or at least the local neighborhood. Plus, it's good exercise for everyone involved. |
Thank you, Richard, for dedicating your time to ARRI and the welfare of our animals!
Our next volunteer orientation will be held on Saturday, September 6th at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom. Please register for orientation here.

Dinah is a 12-year-old, lap-seeking missile with a heart full of love. She adores people, craves attention, and will zero in on any available lap like it's her life’s mission - because it is! Sweet, gentle Dinah is a perfect companion for anyone craving a calm, affectionate cat.
She looks serious in her photos, but don’t be fooled. Dinah is spry and playful. Her one quirk? This special senior sometimes growls at her own tail and even chases it when the mood strikes. Odd, right? It’s all part of her charm. Meet her and she'll charm you, too! Celebrate Senior Pet Day this month by giving a wise and loving cat like Dinah the home she deserves.
