Dog Treats Needed!

We are very low on dog treats and need your help!

Treats play an important role in daily life at the shelter. We use them for training, enrichment, building trust, and of course, rewarding all of our good boys and girls.

If you're able to donate a bag (or two!) of dog treats, we'd be truly grateful. Every donation helps us provide a little extra comfort, encouragement, and happiness to the dogs in our care.

Treats may be shipped directly to ARRI or dropped off to:
506B Curtis Corner Rd, Peace Dale, RI 02879.

Happy Endings: Bon Bon

Bon Bon, now lovingly renamed Millie, is thriving in her new home!

Her adopter says Millie is a smart, happy girl who has already mastered potty training and learned several new commands. She's embraced an active lifestyle, spending her days visiting the dog park, swimming, and attending weekly group walks and adventure camp with Tails and Trails.

Best of all, Millie has found exactly what every shelter pet deserves: a family who adores her! As her adopter shared, "I'm so happy to have this sweet little girl in my life. I can't thank you enough."

There is nothing we love more than sharing happy endings like Millie's. Thank you to everyone who supports ARRI and makes stories like hers possible, and thank you to Millie's adopter for giving her the love and life she always deserved.

Over $260,000 Raised

FurBall 2026 was an incredible evening, and we're still feeling the excitement. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, patrons, and supporters, we raised over $260,000, surpassing our fundraising goal.

Every ticket purchased, auction bid placed, sponsorship secured, and donation made will help provide shelter, medical care, enrichment, training, and second chances for the more than 500 animals who rely on ARRI each year. We are so grateful to everyone who made this unforgettable night and its lasting impact possible. Because of you, we can continue our mission of providing animals in need with the care, compassion, and second chances they deserve.

Thank you to our generous sponsor, Centreville Bank, for their leadership and support of FurBall 2026.

Ways To Make A Difference This July:

Pawpalooza is a community-driven initiative that brings together local businesses, animal lovers, and generous supporters like you to help the animals at ARRI. It’s more than just a fundraiser; it’s a way to strengthen our community and make a lasting impact for the animals in our care.

Looking for the perfect summer outfit? Stop by J. McLaughlin - Watch Hill on July 4 at 124 Bay Street, Watch Hill, RI 02891. A portion of all sales that day will be donated to ARRI, so you can refresh your summer wardrobe while helping provide second chances for animals in need. Every purchase makes a difference!

As you stock up for your Fourth of July celebrations, stop by Belmont Market, located at 600 Kingstown Road, Wakefield, RI 02879.

From July 3–5, Belmont Market will host Dollar Days, allowing customers to round up their purchase or donate to ARRI at checkout. Every contribution helps provide care for the animals who rely on us.

This summer, you can support ARRI while investing in your own well-being! Visit Be the Change Nutrition at 1130 Ten Rod Road, Building D, Room 302, North Kingstown, RI 02852. During July, August, and September, Be the Change Nutrition will donate to ARRI for every client who receives nutrition counseling. It's a meaningful way to prioritize your health while helping provide second chances for homeless pets.

Keep Your Pets Safe This Fourth of July

While Independence Day is a time for celebration, it can be one of the most stressful days of the year for pets. Fireworks, unfamiliar guests, and busy celebrations can cause even the calmest animals to panic.

A few simple precautions can help keep your pets safe this 4th of July:

- Keep pets indoors before fireworks begin, ideally in a quiet room with the TV, fan, or music on to help mask loud noises.

- Make sure collars and ID tags are secure, and check that your pet's microchip information is up to date in case they become lost.

- Exercise dogs earlier in the day before festivities begin to help them burn off energy.

- Keep people food, alcohol, fireworks, and glow sticks out of reach, as many holiday items can be dangerous to pets.

- Never bring pets to fireworks displays. Even well-socialized animals can become frightened and bolt unexpectedly.

Taking a few extra precautions can help ensure everyone has a safe and happy holiday. Happy Fourth of July from all of us at ARRI!

A heartfelt thank you to The Washington Trust Company for organizing a spring and summer donation drive in support of Animal Rescue Rhode Island. Your generosity and commitment to giving back will help provide food, supplies, and compassionate care for the animals who need it most. We are so grateful for your partnership and support.

Pet of the Month: Taylor

Meet Taylor!

Taylor has been waiting for her forever home since March, and we think it's time this sweet girl gets the spotlight she deserves.

At just over a year old, Taylor is full of joy. She has the sweetest heart-shaped nose, the softest white coat, and a happy, bouncy personality that's impossible not to smile at. She loves attention, happily leans in for cuddles, and greets everyone she meets with enthusiastic tail wags and joyful little hops.

Our volunteer dog walkers enjoy time with Taylor. They say she's a good walking companion who enjoys getting out to explore, sniff the world around her, and simply be with her people.

She would thrive in a home that can give her regular exercise, plenty of adventures, and all the love she's been waiting for.

Taylor also loves spending time with other dogs. She does well in our shelter playgroups and would likely enjoy having a canine companion to romp around with before curling up for a well-earned nap.

Every day, Taylor waits patiently for someone to choose her. We don't know why she keeps getting overlooked, but she's ready to love someone with her whole heart.

If you've been thinking about adding a dog to your family, we hope you'll come meet Taylor. We think the best chapter of her story is still waiting to be written.

To meet Taylor, call us at 401-783-7606, x 105, or complete an adoption questionnaire today.
