When Mouse was found as a stray in the South alongside his brother Danny, his future was uncertain. But this 2-year-old coonhound with soulful eyes and the calmest heart never stopped being gentle, hopeful, and ready for love. From stray to foster care, and then to our care in Rhode Island. Mouse quietly won over everyone he met. He was the kind of dog who was simply happy to be by your side — taking in the world at his own peaceful pace and reminding us that sometimes the softest hearts are the strongest. Today, Mouse is exactly where he was always meant to be: home. | | His adopters recently shared that he’s settling in beautifully and showing off his extra cuddly side. They feel so lucky to have him — and we know he feels just as lucky to have found them.
Stories like Mouse’s don’t happen by chance. They happen because of compassion, commitment, and generosity from supporters like you. Your gifts make it possible to say “yes” to dogs like Mouse — to provide safe shelter, loving foster homes, and the second chances they deserve. Thank you for helping turn uncertain beginnings into forever homes. |

Volunteer Spotlight: Robin! |
Each month, ARRI celebrates a dedicated volunteer who goes above and beyond for our animals. This month’s honoree, Robin, shared a bit about her experience: Why do you volunteer at ARRI? "I volunteer because all I wish I could do is save every cat in the world. Volunteering brings me so much joy and fulfillment. I can’t imagine not doing it now." What's your favorite part about volunteering at ARRI?
"My favorite thing about ARRI is all the wonderful care and commitment they give to all of the babies. They put so much time and effort into making sure all the pets go to good homes. It’s definitely an honor to say I volunteer here!" Who is your current favorite animal at the shelter or something you like helping with at the shelter?
"It’s so hard to pick just one as my favorite. There have been so many who've held a special place in my heart. My favorite thing to do is the morning cat care! I absolutely love all of the greetings I get when first arriving!" |
Thank you, Robin, for dedicating your time and giving your heart to ARRI and the welfare of our animals! |

Meet Trixie! Trixie, our longest feline resident, is still patiently waiting for her special someone.
This beautiful 7-year-old calico came to us as an older, pregnant stray, having likely spent much of her life caring for others. After years of uncertainty and responsibility, Trixie is finally ready for something she’s never truly had of her own...a quiet, safe home filled with patience and love.
Trixie isn’t the type to rush into your arms, but she has made incredible progress during her time with us. With gentle encouragement and understanding, she’s even grown brave enough to climb into a lap when she feels safe and ready. Watching her confidence blossom has been such a joy.
Trixie is looking for a calm, compassionate adopter who will let her set the pace and choose when to trust. In return, a bond that is deeply rewarding — the kind built on patience, respect, and quiet devotion. To meet Trixie, call us at 401-783-7606, x 105, or complete an adoption questionnaire today. |
