From all of us at ARRI, thank you for making BARK ON THE BEACH an unforgettable experience! |

Dear Friends,
As the leaves begin to turn and the air grows crisp, we’re reflecting on the incredible warmth and generosity of our community.
BARK ON THE BEACH was a joyful celebration of compassion, and thanks to you we raised an astounding $58,000 for the animals in our care. Every step taken and every dollar donated helps us provide second chances for homeless pets. We, and they, are very grateful! We’re keeping the momentum going with two upcoming events:
Our online Go Beyond! Auction goes live Friday, October 10th! With exciting items and experiences up for bid, it’s a great way to support ARRI while treating yourself or someone you love to something special. You could even do some early holiday shopping!
ARRI’s Pup & Kitty Crawl is Saturday, October 11th in Narragansett, and it’s another fun way to connect, celebrate, and support our mission. We hope you’ll join us!
There’s lots happening this season, from adoptions and events to new ways to get involved. Event details are below, and we invite you to follow us on social media for updates on our adoptable animals and the successes you continue to make possible! With gratitude, |

Each month, ARRI celebrates a dedicated volunteer who goes above and beyond for our animals. This month’s honoree, Jenny, shared a bit about her experience: Why do you volunteer at ARRI? I volunteer at ARRI because I love helping animals. I love getting to know all of the dogs' personalities.
What's your favorite part about volunteering at ARRI? My favorite thing about ARRI is how much all the staff love, and are dedicated to, the animals. I can tell all the dogs love the staff, too, based on how excited they get whenever they see them! |
Thank you, Jenny, for dedicating your time and giving your heart to ARRI and the welfare of our animals!
Our next volunteer orientation will be held on Wednesday, October 29th, at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom. Please register for orientation HERE. |
Meet Livy, Our Gentle Middle-Aged Sweetheart
Livy is our longest resident and a beloved favorite among volunteers. It's easy to see why. At 7 years young, this lovely lady has a heart full of love and a soul full of grace. She spends her days lounging in cozy spots around the cat room, always calm, always kind.
A quiet observer and gentle companion, Livy brings peace wherever she goes. She gets along well with other cats and thrives in a serene environment where her soft presence can truly shine. Her sweet purrs and affectionate nudges are her way of saying she’s ready to love and be loved.
Livy is on thyroid medication, which she takes like a champ, and it’s been working beautifully for her. Her mature status hasn’t slowed her down; it’s only made her wiser, gentler, and even more grateful for companionship. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion to share peaceful evenings with, Livy might be the one you’ve been waiting for. She’s certainly been waiting patiently for you!

Sponsor Spotlight: First-Time Fun at Bark on the Beach!
“We had an amazing time at Bark on the Beach! This was our first year sponsoring and attending the event, and we were blown away by the energy, the community, and, of course, the dogs! With over 300 pups in attendance, the joy was contagious. Everyone was smiling, tails were wagging, and it was clear this event brings out the best in people and pets alike.”
Bark on the Beach isn’t just a walk, it’s a celebration of compassion, connection, and community. Sponsors help make it all possible, ensuring that every animal that comes through ARRI’s doors receives the care, love, and second chance they deserve. Whether you’re a small business or a larger company, now is a great time to join us. Your sponsorship promotes your brand and helps homeless pets find their forever homes. | Happy Ending: Louie’s Life of Love Redding, now known as Louie, has found his perfect match—and it shows in every tail wag and cuddle. His adopter, Jenn, recently shared an update that melted our hearts: “Louie is doing so well. He knows his name and also knows the commands sit, stay, and come here. He’s such a sweet boy. He loves to snuggle, go for walks, eat dry food (yup!), and enjoy treats. And yes, there’s definitely a playful side to him!”
Louie has become Jenn’s loyal companion, following her around the house and snoozing on his dog bed in her office while she works. He even enjoyed a recent adventure to Avery Point, where the seagulls and picnicking families caught his curiosity and attention. “Thank you again for making Louie a special part of our family.”
We’re so grateful to Jenn for giving Louie the loving home he deserves. Stories like this remind us why we do what we do, because every pet deserves a happy ending. |
