Special Thank You To Sponsor          Foreva Yoga

We’re thrilled to welcome Foreva Yoga as an Alpha Sponsor of Bark on the Beach!

A purr, a happy wagging tail, and a deep breath all have something in common: they bring us joy and a sense of calm.

For the owners of Foreva Yoga, supporting animals and giving back to the community is a natural extension of yoga. “Yoga is not just what we practice on the mat; it’s also about compassion, kindness, connection, and service. Being able to bring those values into our community and support the animals who need us feels very meaningful.”

"We’ve been part of this wonderful event for years, and it’s a cause that is especially close to my heart. I’ve always loved animals and, years ago, I had the opportunity to volunteer at an animal shelter. We’re so happy that Foreva Yoga is supporting Bark on the Beach again and can’t wait to see all the happy pups!”

Foreva Yoga will be at Bark on the Beach on 9/13 to share some relaxation tips and will host a short Yoga session after the walk.

Thank you, Foreva Yoga, for supporting ARRI and helping to make this year's Bark on the Beach possible!

Happy Endings: Sundance / "Cinder"

Sundance, one of our sweet orange kittens, recently arrived home with his new family. And while change can be scary for any animal, this brave little guy seemed ready to embrace his next chapter from the moment he arrived.

Straight out of his carrier, he was already playing with his new toys. He quickly discovered his love for wet food, started exploring his new space, and began getting acquainted with the resident cats waiting on the other side of the door.

His family is taking introductions slowly, giving Sundance his own space while he and the other cats have time to adjust to each other at their own pace. And we love to see it! Giving cats time and space to feel comfortable can make such a difference when welcoming a new pet into the home.

One kitty in particular, Mystery, has taken quite an interest in the newest member of the family. Within just a few days, the two were already playing together underneath the door. We’d say that’s a pretty great start.

And Sundance may be embracing another change, too: his family is experimenting with the name Cinder!

But our favorite part of the update came from his adopter:

“He was the missing piece of the pack that we didn't know was missing.”

She describes him as sweet, loving, brave, confident, and just a little goofy, which, as she pointed out, is only fitting for an orange cat.

These are the updates we never get tired of receiving. It sounds as though  Sundance (maybe Cinder!) has already found exactly where he belongs.

September's Pet of the Month is Junie:

Meet Junie!

Our goal for September is simple: we want this to be the month Junie finds her forever home.

Shelter life has been very stressful for this petite, one-year-old girl. Junie is incredibly alert to everything around her, and in a kennel setting, that can be a lot. She appreciates a slower, gentler introduction to new people — just some time to get her bearings and realize she is safe.

Once Junie forms a bond, she is receptive. She looks to the people she trusts for reassurance and guidance. She needs someone who can guide her with love, consistency, and kindness and help her learn that she doesn't always have to be on guard.

More than anything, we would love to see our Junie B. Jones live with another dog. She LOVES other dogs, and we think a confident canine friend could help tremendously by showing her the ropes and helping her feel safe.

Let's get Juniper out of her kennel and into the home where she can finally feel safe enough to be herself.

Please share our September Pet of the Month.

A few things to know about Junebug:

• ~30 lbs, 1 year old
• LOVES other dogs
• Has been safe and respectful with cats
• A bit wary of men and may need extra time
• Loves toys, treats & knows “sit”
• Adorable pink nose, floppy ears & serious side-eye
• Once comfortable, she’s a couch cuddler who loves belly rubs

Underneath that initial uncertainty is a loving, loyal, wonderfully silly little dog. The shelter is stressful for Junie, but the shelter is not the whole story of who she is.

Let's make September Junie's month!

To meet Junie, call us at 401-783-7606, x 105, or complete an adoption questionnaire today.
